SHANGHAI, November 23rd 2020. LAIBA Beverages and Peddlers Gin finish first out of twenty nominees to win the Visionary Award from DRiNK Magazine, for their ‘Bar in a Bottle’ initiative.
The yearly DRiNK Awards celebrate the outstanding bartenders, brands and professionals in the alcohol industry that have made an impact over the last year. On Monday night, professionals from across the industry gathered to celebrate the shared success of this community over the course of a turbulent year.
LAIBA Beverages and Peddlers Gin were nominated for the Visionary Award in recognition of their initiative launched during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak. ‘Bar in a Bottle’ was created to rally the struggling bar community and create a profit-sharing partnership to help small businesses that were affected by the lockdown.
Collaborating with Peddlers Gin, LAIBA worked with 12 different bars in 4 different cities, bottling their signature cocktails and selling them online throughout China. Each bar shared in the sales from their drinks, providing a source of revenue at a time when bars were forced to close.
“We are deeply honored by this award and we humbly give thanks to all the contributors and partners that helped make this possible. 2020 has been a tough year for every business, however, our collective ability to adapt and work together during a crisis has been the most valuable lesson for all of us going forward.”Alexander Petersen, CEO.
On top of receiving an award, LAIBA Beverages also worked in partnership with the DRiNK Awards, for the third year running, to bottle and serve 1,890 award-winning cocktails to the 640 guests in attendance. This year, LAIBA partnered with CHIVAS, Dewar’s and Maker’s Mark to present three different cocktails on the night. A final testament to the quality and consistency assured in every LAIBA cocktail.
Special thanks go out to all the contributors who helped make Bar in a Bottle a reality, and the community who supported the vision.
