Congratulations to all the winners of the DMBA in Shanghai last night! It was an evening to remember with some amazing cocktails from some of the industry’s finest.
Several of the world’s best bars were in attendance, with 650 guests being treated to a cocktail reception from world-renowned bartenders such as Erik Lorincz, Joe Schofield, Agung Prabowo, Beckaly Franks, Shingo Gokan, Ali Burgess, Martin Hudak and many more.
Earlier this year at the 2019 CHIVAS Masters in London, Sebastian Cichowlas was crowned the CHIVAS Masters Champion: leading his 80s-inspired bar Pirouette to glory. His winning cocktails “Electrolight” and “Footloose” stole the show with their colourful blend of flavours and they were on show at the Drink Magazine Bar Awards last night.
Every guest was given a chance to try this year’s winning cocktail and LAIBA was on hand to serve this one-of-a-kind drink. The LAIBA team was given the honour of mixing and bottling the winning recipe, which was then given to everyone in attendance.
The cocktail contained CHIVAS Regal 12, a mix of red apple juice and Granny Smith apple elixir, with notes of Ceylon cinnamon spice tea syrup, and finished with dry triple sec and whiskey barrel aged bitters – all contributing to a bright and flavourful whiskey cocktail.
It is our passion for fine craftsmanship and our high-quality production standards that made this collaboration possible, and it is encouraging to see how the industry has embraced a new side of drink-making: where such elite level mixology can be best served as a bottled cocktail and there is no sacrifice in quality.
Having seen so many amazing innovations in cocktails on display last night, we look forward to what the future has in store for this industry. Congratulations to all the winners once again, we can’t wait to see what comes next!
